Reading – Among Armadillos on 11 June, at 7.30 p.m.

Wednesday, 11 June 2014, 19:30

The Autonama team will be on tour in Brazil in early June to compete against their Brazilian counterparts, the national team of authors of Brazil, as well as a team from a local favela in Sao Paolo. Freshly jet-lagged from their travels, the players will descend on Auguststraße on the eve of the World Cup to give us an exclusive report of their Brazilian experiences, including colourful snapshots, prose and poetry on the ensuing four weeks of football fever. Guest speaker Michael Ebmeyer will also present his latest publication: Voller Stolz: Über Fussball, Flaggen und Wir-Gefühle. Thomas Klupp also expects to say a few words, this time on why, despite being a top player, he rarely ever gets to leave the bench. And philosopher Wolfram Eilenberger will shed light on the all-important question of whether the Brazilian three-banded armadillo really is the best choice of mascot for the 2014 World Cup.

Readings and reveries by: Michael Ebmeyer, Wolfram Eilenberger, Thomas Klupp, Thomas Pletzinger, and Frank Willmann / Host and referee: Florian Werner
