In the context of the Gallery Weekend we’ll hold an international collector’s talk with the Italian collector Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in cooperation with KUNST Magazin on Friday, 27.04.2012, 3 p.m.
Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo started collecting contemporary art in the early nineties and set up the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in 1995, of which she is President. The Fondazione is under the artistic Directorship of Francesco Bonami and organises a wide-ranging programme of activities and events organised in parallel and in response to all the main shows. The exhibitions are challenging, often of an experimental and site-responsive nature that cover political, social and philosophical themes and issues.
Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo is an active patron of the arts. She is a Member of the International Council, Museum of Modern Art, New York and Member of the Friends of Contemporary Drawing, Museum of Modern Art, New York; Member of the International Council, Tate Gallery, London; Member of the Leadership Council, New Museum, New York; Member of the Advisory Committee for Modern and Contemporary Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art; Honorary Associate of the Monaco Project for the Arts.
Among other honors and awards for her work in the art world, she has received the “Mont Blanc Arts Patronage Award” for her dedication to contemporary art and she has been awarded the titles “Ufficiale della Repubblica” by the Italian State and “Chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres” by the French Ministry of Culture.
