The Olbricht Collection is regarded as one of the most extensive private art collections in Europe, and is as broad in its choice of media as it is in the periods it covers. Within its eclectic wealth, however, a number of focal points can be identified, the most important of which is probably the comprehensive edition work of Gerhard Richter. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of me Collectors Room Berlin, a special room has been dedicated to Richter’s abstract works from the Olbricht Collection. Tapestries, colour fields, strips and painting editions with a unique character, in combination with paintings and watercolours, bear witness to the artist’s wide-ranging oeuvre and impressively illustrate how closely edition and unique work are interwoven therein.
