“Drinking tea is as much part of the Chinese culture as painting and poetry,” says Yali Yu, the proprietor of the tea house in the Chinese Garden in Berlin-Marzahn.
The Chinese tradition of drinking fine teas dates back a very long time. The aim of the ceremony is to make tea in the best possible manner. Apart from the pleasures in tasting, the tea ceremony affords participants a perfect means of relaxation, tranquillity and contemplation.
Yali Yu was born in Sichuan, has studied landscape architecture in China and Germany and has accompanied the development of the Chinese Garden at Marzahn from its very beginning.
The tea ceremonies have been arranged in cooperation with the Chinese teahouse at Erholungspark Marzahn.
