Inspired by the exhibition “My Abstract World” Husam Al Ali and Salam Alhassan will play songs from the time of the foundation of oriental music by famous singers like Fairuz from Lebanon, Muhammad Abd al-Wahab, Najat Al Saghira, Umm Kulthum, and Abdel Halim Hafez from Egypt.
Husam Al Ali (Opera and Classic Oriental Music Singing, Oud) was born in Homs, Syria in 1990. While he studied opera singing in Homs, he already performed at Damascus Opera House and worked as music teacher until he had to leave his country. He arrived in Germany in 2015 and has performed in various Classic Oriental Music concerts.
Salam Alhassan (Percussion) was born in Aleppo, Syria in 1975. He studied fine arts in Damascus and is working as an animation filmmaker and percussionist. He came to Berlin four and a half years ago and has performed at numerous concerts since then, mostly to support Syrian refugees in Berlin.
